Privacy policy
How PestToClear handles your personal data under Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA).
Last updated: 6 October 2026
The short version. PestToClear is a matching service, not a pest-control company. When you send an enquiry, your details go to the OurKampung team, who pass them to the partner pest-control firm that will quote you. That is the point of the service, and the form says so before you send it. We don’t sell your data.
1. Who we are
This site is run by the OurKampung team, which runs a family of independent Singapore home sites and guides. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean that team. PestToClear introduces homes and businesses in Singapore to independent pest-control firms. We don’t carry out pest control ourselves.
2. What we collect
Through the enquiry form, we collect:
- your name and phone or WhatsApp number;
- the pest, your property type, your area and when you need the work done;
- anything else you write in the form;
- the page you sent the enquiry from.
We also collect non-identifying usage data through Google Analytics, such as which pages were viewed and whether an enquiry was sent. This site doesn’t use browser local storage or session storage.
3. Why we collect it
- To understand and respond to your enquiry.
- To pass your enquiry to a partner pest-control firm that can quote you.
- To follow up on your enquiry, and on any problem with a job we passed on.
- To keep records of enquiries and improve this site.
- To meet legal or regulatory obligations.
4. Who we pass it to
When you send an enquiry, we pass your name, phone number and the details of the job to the partner pest-control firm that will quote you, so it can contact you directly. Occasionally we may pass it to a second firm, for example if the first can’t take the job. If your enquiry is about disposal or clearance, such as getting rid of an infested mattress, that partner can be Junk to Clear, a disposal company we refer jobs to. We don’t sell personal data, and we don’t pass it to advertisers or unrelated businesses.
Once a firm has your details, it is a separate organisation with its own obligations under the PDPA. Any agreement for the pest-control work is between you and that firm.
We also use service providers to run this site and deliver enquiries, including a form-delivery service, hosting and Google Analytics, and we disclose data where the law requires it.
5. Consent, and withdrawing it
The form tells you where your details will go before you send it. By sending it, you consent to that use. You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us (section 9). We’ll stop using your data for these purposes within a reasonable time. We can’t recall details already passed to a firm, so you would need to contact that firm too.
6. How long we keep it
We keep enquiry data for as long as we need it for the purposes above, and then for up to 24 months from your last contact with us, so we can deal with follow-up questions about a job. After that we delete or anonymise it, unless the law requires us to keep it longer.
7. Access and correction
Under the PDPA you can ask us for access to the personal data we hold about you, and how it has been used or disclosed in the past year, and ask us to correct anything inaccurate. We may need to verify your identity first, and a reasonable fee may apply to an access request, as the PDPA allows.
8. Protecting your data
We make reasonable security arrangements to protect the personal data we hold against unauthorised access, use, disclosure or loss. No transmission over the internet is completely secure.
9. Contact
Send questions, access or correction requests and consent withdrawals through the contact form, marked for the attention of the Data Protection Officer.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
11. Complaints
If you’re not satisfied with how we’ve handled your data, contact us first. You can also complain to the Personal Data Protection Commission of Singapore.
